Releasing and Healing Trauma with Hypnotherapy
Events from our past, like traumatic experiences that we may or may not be fully aware of, can leave conscious or unconscious imprints on the mind and body and spirit. This can result in struggles with cycles of anxiety, stress, irritability, addictive behaviors, emotional pain and confusion. Clinical Hypnotherapy is a powerful modality that gets to the root of the cycle of “stuckness”, and helps you release the trauma—so you can move forward and return to your well-being.
Trauma is a universal human experience. A traumatic event may involve anything from imprinted experiences from early childhood, various kinds of abuse to a natural disasters and accidents to the loss or death of a loved one. When people struggle to process traumatic events and experiences, it can lead to certain mental health conditions or symptoms, such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, fears, and addictive behaviors.
Several types of hypnotic regression can be successfully used to help you process all manner of traumatic memory. In Clinical Hypnotherapy we use trance, creativity and imagination to help you work through the past event, but this time, with resources you did not have at the time of the original event(s). When this work is done in trance, it changes the way the memory is stored, and the way it functions in the body and mind. You are no longer held hostage by the past.
Clinical Hypnotherapy is an effective treatment for trauma. Hypnotherapy cannot erase traumatic events, but it can directly address the events and their effects. Hypnotherapy allows you to access information and ‘data’ that is stored in your physical body, subconscious mind, and energetic field. The actual traumatic event can be examined; the wide array of emotion surrounding it can be claimed, processed, and expressed; any negative conclusions or beliefs (that have often directly contributed to life-long behavioral patterns) can be released and transformed. One of the primary goals of hypnotherapy is restoration of the self: for the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual parts of you to be unified, balanced, and whole. From this place, healthy connection can be born. Hypnotherapy gives a voice to the lost parts of the self, the parts that were hidden away or shrouded in negativity as a means to survive trauma. Your reconnection to those lost parts gives you the freedom to no longer be held back by the past.
